Buck Denver’s Giant Robot Suit & Buck Denver’s Bad, Bad Day {Children’s Book Reviews}

I received free copies of the books below in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are always my own.

If any of you have kids who love Veggie Tales you will be excited about these next 2 books I am going to share with you. Buck Denver’s Giant Robot Suit and Buck Denver’s Bad, Bad Day are written by Veggie Tales creator Phil Vischer and are based on the video series Buck Denver Asks… What’s in the Bible? .

My daughter loves reading and I love books that I know have value, show character but are also fun to read and engaging. These books are books that I don’t have to worry what they are reading. You can never read enough about God or the Bible and these books are great and sharing our love of both.

Buck Denver’s Giant Robot Suit

What does it mean to be a good friend?

Buck Denver wants to be friends with God, so he makes a giant robot suit to be closer to Him. To help Buck understand the true meaning of friendship, his friends share their favorite Bible stories. First, Sunday School Lady tells him all about David and Jonathan and their loyalty to one another in tough times. Then Pastor Paul talks about how Jesus offers friendship to each of us. In the end, Buck learns that God uses friends to help us grow stronger and our friendship with Jesus helps us grow closer to God!

My Review

I love how this how this book focused on friendship. My daughter is 8 and very friendly. This book showed her how to be a great friend and how God uses friends to help us through life. Friends are an important part of our life and helps us be stronger.

In the back of the book is a section called “Family Connection”. It lists questions for you to ask your child and really get them thinking about the lessons in the book and  Bible verses to read. This is such an awesome thing to include in the book.

Buck Denver’s Bad, Bad Day

What does it mean to be thankful?

Buck Denver has had a bad, bad day, so his friends take him on a quest to learn about thankfulness. Soon, he’s on a ride with Sunday School Lady, Marcy, and Brother Louie to learn about Jehoshaphat and Lazarus. In the end, Buck learns that on good days AND bad days, God is good and worthy of our thanks-every day, no matter what!

My Review

Thankful…that is a word that I actively try to teach my children all the time. Be thankful for the big, the small, the things you see and even the things you don’t see. This book is a fun, gentle approach that helps children remember just how great God is and to thankful all the time. This book to has the “Family Connection” section in the back.

Easter is coming up these would make perfect basket stuffers. They are fun to read but also remind the children of some important life lessons. Friendship and thankfulness are 2 very important life lessons that many people lack today in this sometimes harsh world. Let’s remind our littles how great God is and how he provides for us every…single…day!
