When I told my daughter we got tickets for Crayola Experience she was thrilled! My son is older and wasn’t interested in going so we invited our neighbor and her younger daughter to go with us.
Crayola Experience Orlando, Florida is located in the Florida Mall. Parking is free, and we went during the week so the lot parking lot was crowded but I would expect that to be different during weekends, holidays and summer. As soon as you pull around all you see is the vibrant colors and sign and this got the kids all excited! There are life size crayons and markers, perfect photo opp!
Crayola Experience is a 2 story, 70,000 sq. feet building attached to the mall. It is filled with over 26 interactive, fun and colorful exhibits. Also includes food like Crayola Cafe and a colorful gift shop when you’re done. They also have lockers for rent if you need to take diaper bags, change of clothes etc. This is wonderful for mommas so we don’t have to carry around all the stuff.
When you get get your ticket each person also receives a clear bag with 2 tokens inside. The tokens are used for specific attractions while some are free. If you need or want to purchase extra tokens they are only 2 for $1.00. I would allow a good 3-5 hours to see everything and leave room for lunch too.
There is so much to do! I am going to highlight a few of the little ones favorites.
As soon as you walk up the 2nd floor you will see Wrap It Up. This is where you get to create your very own crayon! This is where you will use 1 of your tokens. There are several color stations to choose from. Choose crayon color, name it whatever you want, choose a design and print. A naked crayon and sticky label will pop out. Just take those to the roller station and attach your label. Now you have your very own crayon!
Drip Art usually has a line so be prepared. You will get to choose 2 crayons to create your masterpiece. At the machine you insert your 1st crayon, close the lid and pull the lever up and down to speed the spin faster or slower. The crayon then melts and creates melted crayon spin art. Once that’s done insert your 2nd crayon and repeat.
Ever want to be the star of your very own coloring sheet? Now you can be at Be A Star. Choose your background, pose and print. You are now on your own coloring sheets. TIP: Do not let them color them there, save for when they get home and make copies.
Art Alive even had us adults joining in on the coloring fun! Use the iPad to create your own drawing or color one of the digital pages. There are many different colors to choose from including crayons, glitter, markers and paint. When your done your coloring then moves to the big screen. The theme was under the sea while we visited but I know these do change.
We ate at Crayola Cafe- seriously delicious pizza and soft pretzels. The prices were decent and the kids meals come with an adorable souvenir bucket, reusable cup, choice between slice of pizza or hotdog and snack of apple sauce, cookie or chips.
When you need a break site down and let the kids play at one of the play areas for a bit. There is also clay molding and coloring stations and so much more! Like I said there is over 25 different exhibits and so much creativity to be explored.
The associates were pleasant and helpful and the building including restrooms was very clean. Definitely 2 thumbs up from the littles and a must do for anyone coming to Orlando. Be sure to visit the gift shop when your down for fun, colorful gifts featuring your favorite Crayola products and colors!
