It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I seriously love Christmas. And not just for decorating, yummy treats and presents but most importantly celebrating the birth of Jesus! Sometimes we can get caught up in all the celebrations we tend to forget the reason for the season.
The Stable Cat’s Christmas is such a sweet little story about a small cat that lives in Bethlehem. One night she comes home to find out that a baby has been born in her stable. She learns from the other animals that the baby is none other than Jesus. The animals talk about bringing gifts to the new born King and she wonders what gift she can bring to him?
The book is written by Christina S. Vrba and illustrated by Gail Yerrill. The book is such a fun read! We read it in front of the Christmas tree one night before bed. The illustrations are adorable. I don’t want to spoil the book for you but let’s just say baby Jesus gave this stable cat a gift of her own. The little stable cat gave one of the best gifts she could have- one that came from her heart. What a little blessing this book is! And perfect just in time for Christmas. I think this book is also a reminder that not all gifts come in packages with bows.
